Mother's Pin necklace

Many moons ago a dear friend of mine gave me a gift. It was a necklace to hold all of my mother pins from Cub Scouts through Boy Scouts. I have treasured my necklace for about 7 years now. I wear it proudly to all my scouting functions and I am constantly asked where I got it and what an awesome idea it is.

Zac is trying to raise money to go to National Jamboree where he will celebrate 100 years of Boy Scouts in America with 40,000 other boys from around the world. We are looking for ideas to fundraise and thought of my necklace. With a camp in the range of $3,000 we are doing A LOT of fundraising. I will also be making some things for dads so they can show support also.

Kenzie's Room Banner

So here is a door banner I made for Kenzie’s room. It has guitars and skulls on it. What more could a teenager ask for?? I painted some left over chip board letters I had laying around and added a guitar brad through the K. I attached the letters to some torn vellum and layered the distressed papers. Added some other brads, even a skull one that Kenzie picked out. I used the Stampin Up scallop edge punch to edge the entire paper. I added some grommets and fiber to hang. Dangling is a ghost star I painted and hung from a chain. Kenzie LOVES it and the other two are asking where theirs are, looks like I’ve got some more work to do :)

Thank you gift jar

One of Brad’s co-workers understands our passion for fresh, spicy, homemade salsa. She also understand the lack of opportunity to purchase such salsa in AK. She made a large batch of homemade salsa for our family. This jar was full of the delicious homemade salsa.

As a Thank You, I decorated the jar and we will bake brownies using my Pampered Chef mini cupcake pan. We will then fill the jar with the bite size chocolaty treats.

I used double sided paper and adhered it to the jar. I then layered the jar with distressed paper and wrapped lacey ribbon around. I inked a chipboard frame and added some flowers. I have photo hangers on either side and used a twine thread to tie around the back. Now I just need to make sure Brad delivers the jar AND the brownies J

Clipboard Pocket Organizer

Here is a clip board I made last year for a class at a local scrapbooking store (LSS). I was inspired by a friend in Colorado named Donna. We taught together at a scrapbooking store. One of the classes we taught was a decorated clipboard. Donna always went above and beyond to teach the customers what else they could create. She made a clipboard that had pockets to hold different items. I loved the idea! Very practical and decorative at the same time.

I painted the wood clipboard red and then covered with paper. By adhering only the sides and bottom of the paper, I was able to create the pockets as Donna did. I added tabs from a Stampin Up punch and stamped each tab with a category. I used a Making Memories square tag maker rim and wrapped ribbon around and fastened with brads. Threw on some flowers, bling and fibers and called it done.

1st Knitted project

I have never shared my projects with world of web before (because I rarely finish them :(....) so I thought I would begin to share things I have done and finished. This is project I did last fall ’07. It is the first thing I have ever knitted and it was then felted into a bowl. I used Noro wool to ensure felting and the colors sing to me each time I look at it. Mikaela was all too proud to showcase my work. I have 1 skein left and it too will be knitted in the same pattern, just not felted. Carla will be so proud of me :)
